Vestige started as a simple observation: the car someone wants and the car someone is selling are rarely in the same country. We built a business around closing that gap
The company is established, sourcing cars mainly for expats in Hong Kong and selling on consignment on their behalf.
We agree partnerships with UK car brokers and import our first cars from the UK to Hong Kong, alongside fully restored 1960s Ford Mustangs from the Philippines.
We import our first cars from Japan, and inspect our first classic car in Hong Kong for a UK client before exporting it to the UK. The same year, we begin working closely with a major investment bank — sourcing cars for staff newly arrived in Hong Kong, and selling for those leaving.
We become heavily involved with a couple of large private collections, helping the collectors sell cars from them.
We import the first of many cars from Australia and make our first export there, establishing a partner link in Brisbane.
We make our first export to, and import from, New Zealand — and the same year, our first exports to the USA and Europe.
We open our first UK office, taking over the business there directly. Hong Kong and the UK remain our primary trade route.
